Pink Saturday! - Vintage Lamp

Today is Pink Saturday and our hostess is Beverly At How Sweet the Sound.
Last week while I was at my Mom's house she told me she was cleaning out a closet and asked if I wanted this "old Lamp" she was going to throw away. When she took me into the back bedroom, I almost fell over and yelled at her, "Don't you dare throw that away!" I told her I would take it and go buy a new lampshade for it. I remember this lamp in our living room as I was growing up.
Here is a close up of the pretty pink flowers that adorn the front of the lamp. I only see one tiny chip on it, it is in pretty good shape for being almost 60 years old!
I just love the knob on the top of the lamp that hold the shade on. It has such a vintage look to it! I also love the shape of the base of the lamp. It reminds me of a vintage vase with handles!

I have a similar lamp that I purchased at a yard sale for a $2 the flowers on mine are blue. I had no idea how old it was or any history. Thanks for posting the lovely lamp. The shade you added looks fabulous.

Happy PS

Isn't it funny - the things folks don't want any more?

I don't blame you, I would grabbed that in a heart beat. Just be glad I wasn't there or I would have taken it away from you. Hugs, Rosemarie

I have a lamp in my living room that is almost identical to that one. It was my husband's grandmothers. My MIL was going to take it to a thrift store and I couldn't let her do it.

I'm glad your mom reminded you 'bout it and you decided to keep it. Not only is it pretty but it's collected stories from your childhood, I bet. Good luck on finding the right lamp shade to match. or maybe you can dress the old one or paint it :-)
