Blue Monday - Raggedy Ann Dolls-The Classic American Doll!

Aw, Raggedy Ann Dolls. The best known and most adored rag dolls!
I use to collect Raggedy Ann Dolls. I have most of them packed away (the vintage collectible ones) but I do have a few newer ones displayed in one of my guest bedrooms. Years ago I bought this antique wood doll bed at a thrift store. I have a Raggedy Ann doll in it for my sweet little grand daughters to play with when they come to visit me.
33 years ago my mother crocheted that little doll blanket on the bed for my daughter's dolls. I have saved it all these years and I now let my grand daughters play with it!

Here comes the inspector.......he always has to check out everything.......

In case you are wondering why the blocks on that shelf spell out LONG, that is our last name!

Such a sweet little face! They make any little girl smile!

Pink Saturday

I love to join Ms Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday. I have been doing this every Saturday for over a year now.

This is a pretty pink wall planter that use to belong to my Grandmother. I remember it hanging in her home when I was a little girl. I also remember she had two, however, my Mom thinks the other one was broken and thrown away.
It has precious porcelain flowers on the front. I have never hung it up on the wall. I have a fear it would fall and break during an earthquake or something....oops I said that word!.....
It still has a yarn string on the back that my grandmother tied on it to hang on the wall! When I look at that I think of her tiny little fingers tying it with love.

Pink Saturday - Pink Rose China

Thank You to Ms Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for hosting Pink Saturday every Saturday!

I was at my Mom's house one day and I snapped a few pictures of some pretty vintage dishes she had in her china cabinet. I don't know the name of the sets, but they have delicate pink roses on them!
Here is a close up of the pink rose

This is another set she has. I do not know the name of it either. I guess I should have pulled one out and checked underneath it!

Rednesday - Red Franciscan Tea Cup Bird Feeder

Thanks to Sue at It's a Very Cherry World, today is a day where we post a picture of something RED!

I love to make things for my garden. Here is a Tea Cup bird feeder that I made from a vintage tea cup and saucer from the set Franciscan Apple. I bought this set at a junk swap meet for $1.00! I love the RED apple print on them!
I find an old wood staircase pole or I buy a new one and distress it to look old. I then seal the wood to withstand the outside elements. Then I drill a hole in the tea cup plate with my drill press
I then screw the plate to the top of the staircase pole with a long wood screw using my hand electric drill with a screw attachment. After that has been done I use a two part epoxy glue to glue the tea cup to the plate. It is so strong that it won't come off!

Now you have something to put into your yard for decoration. Fill it with homemade bird seed or burn a candle in your patio!

I like to dry out my Sunflowers and use the seeds the next season. When the Sunflower starts to turn to seed, put a paper bag over the flower to prevent the squirrels and birds from tearing it apart. When the flower has turned completely to seed, cut off the flower and let it hang dry in a cool dry place. They are great the next year to feed the birds!
