Blue Monday

Today is Blue Monday. I know it has all happened to each one of you, you are watching TV and a Info Commercial comes on and its something you have to have. For my Blue Monday I am posting my Blue Aqua Globes I just had to have.

In case you don't know what they are, they are those hand blown glass watering bulbs that automatically waters your plants for up to 2 months. Mine just happen to be all Blue!

I am embarrassed to say, they actually do work and I love them! They do water my plants automatically and the only thing you have to do is make sure they are refilled with water!

A Pink Amaryllis Bloom for Pink Saturday

I have a beautiful Pink bloom on my Amaryllis Plant. I took pictures of it everyday as it began to open and today it is in bloom on Pink Saturday!

Amaryllis are one of my favorite Christmas flowers. I think the pink ones are the prettiest! They are hard to find in pink!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all!
Christmas is more than trees and twinkling lights, toys and gifts. It is love. It is the love of the Son of God for all mankind. May we all take the time to ponder the real reason why we celebrate Christmas and to have a wonderful, memorable day with our families and loved ones.
Love, Ann

This is a beautiful red rose I still have blooming in my garden today, 2 days before Christmas! Who would ever think it would still be blooming this time of the year?

Show and Tell Friday - Our Museum

Today is Show and Tell Friday so I thought I would post a picture of something we are having built on our property. We are very excited about it because it has been 3 years of dealing with the city through all their red tape and finally we got the okay to start building.

This is our Museum that we are having built in our yard. It's around 12,000 square feet and it will house my husband's Vintage Car Collection and some of our collections of Vintage Gas Station items, my Vintage Barbie Collection etc. The building is huge, 24 feet tall with a overall size of 165 feet by 70 feet!
I went outside this morning to snap this picture and to my surprise this is what I saw on the hills behind our building. I know all you people back south are saying that's nothing, but what you don't understand, it was 90 degrees here 2 weeks ago, it doesn't SNOW here in Southern California where I live. This is extremely rare. Remember all my flowers that I posted last week on Blooming Tuesday? Well, they look like wilted lettuce that was left in a too cold refrigerator!

Blue Monday

I haven't posted anything for a week now. Been so busy wrapping and sending presents off to my grandchildren and kids in Utah.

Today is Blue Monday so I thought I would post something blue.

I love to collect vintage looking Raggedy Ann Dolls. I noticed everyone of them are done in Burgundy and Blue. I have most of them still boxed up in storage but I do have a few in one of my guest bedrooms up on a shelf
This one is my most recent ones. She is so cute. My friend Lorrie gave it to me.

This one has the sweetest face!

Here's also a close up picture of some Blue Vintage jewelry I have on a pretty picture frame

I have this huge platter that is so pretty in blues and gold with Roosters

The Garden in December on Bloomin' Tuesday

Today is Bloomin' Tuesday hosted by Jean at Ms Green Thumb Jean's Blog. I was out of town for the Thanksgiving Holiday and I have missed the last 2 Bloomin' Tuesdays!

The weather has been very mild and at some times still warm here in Southern California. Alot of my flowers are still looking very pretty. No one has told them yet it is December. All these pictures were taken today in my garden.

My roses are all still blooming and still have lots of flowers. I am really feeling kinda sad that next month I have to cut them all back so that they can start all over again for spring! The thought of cutting them back so much when they still have flowers on them just doesn't sound right to me! But I have to do it to promote more flowers and growth for the next season.

Here are some shots of some of my rose plants taken today....

This next plant is a HUGE Vine I have growing on one of my fences. It is covered with bright pink trumpet looking flowers. The bush is around 15 feet tall. It is huge! I have it trimmed every year in the spring but it keeps growing bigger every time! It usually blooms from fall to winter.

Right now it is starting to grow these really long pea pods. This one is about 18 inches long. Do you suppose these are seeds for this plant? I don't know much about this plant except that it gives me lots of color during the fall and winter months. The plant was here when I bought the place.
This is one of my purple bearded Iris plants I found blooming today. I have a area where I have hundreds of these Iris and they always bloom in the spring. Why this one is blooming now, I don't know!
My Orange Tree is full of Oranges! This tree makes the most delicious oranges. My property use to be an orchard and this is one of the remaining fruit trees. We have this tree in our front yard and my husband and I like to sit on the front porch and eat a fresh picked orange in the morning!

This fig tree is also in my front yard. It has big plump figs on it. You have to pick the fruit before the ants and the birds find them first!

My Periwinkles and Vincas grow and bloom till we have a cold night. Then they look like frozen lettuce in the refrigerator! So far we haven't had a cold night!

I still have some different varieties of Daisies growing too.
