Blue Monday in the Garden

Today is Blue Monday over at Sweet Sally's Blog. I haven't posted anything on my blog since last Monday...oops!
We have been up in Utah to see three of our Grandchildren play soccer. It was so much fun to see them play. But, not one of them had on a Blue Soccer shirt! So now I will look around the garden and find something else blue to show today!

I think there is nothing more prettier than Blue Flowers in the Garden! Here's some beautiful shots!

Here's some Blue Hydrangeas against a pretty blue sky

I love these blue morning glory vines growing on our fence

Blue Monday - Distressed American Framed Flag

For Blue Monday today I thought I would post pictures of a distressed looking American Flag that I have displayed in one of my rooms at our vacation home on the Colorado River in Parker, Arizona.

I bought a unfinished frame and painted it blue and I distressed that to look old too. I added wire as the hanger on top attached to two eye hooks. The background of stars is material I have also framed and attached the flag to it. You can't tell in the picture but this is a large size picture frame.

Vintage Thingie Thursday - Vintage Wash Tub in the Garden

Thank you Suzanne over at ColoradoLady Blog for hosting Vintage Thingie Thursday!

Today I am posting a picture of an old Vintage Wash Tub with a old Vintage Wringer that I have in the garden. Every year I plant annuals in it. The Wringer has a date stamped in the wood from the 1890's on it. I bought it years ago at a sale up in the Mountains.

Blue Monday on the Colorado River

For the past 8 days my husband and I have been at our vacation home on the Colorado River in Parker, Arizona. We have been spending time with our son Robert and his family visiting us from Utah. I have been enjoying time with 3 of my sweet grand daughters. I told my grand daughters that it was Blue Monday and I needed to find something Blue. They immediately went and put on their new matching blue swimsuits I bought them and said they wanted to model for me because their bathing suits were blue and is perfect for Blue Monday!

So here is Morgan and Madisen modeling for Grandma their Blue bathing suits on our beach. And they also told me the water was blue and that should also count for Blue Monday!

Pink Saturday - Pink Mosaic Chippy Cabinet

For Pink Saturday today I thought I would show a cabinet I just got done with.

I fell in love with this cabinet the first moment I saw it. Our Real Estate Agent was taking us through a REPO home on a Avocado Grove (two properties away) that was built in 1914 and I saw this cabinet sitting in a corner to be discarded. I knew I had to Mosaic it!

I love the white chippy paint on it. I added lots of pink broken china plates to each side, the bottom and also the top!

This is the top of the cabinet

I love the glass knobs!

I hung it in one of my Shabby Guest Bedrooms with some other Mosaic furniture. I am going to hang some of my pink flowered hand towels on that bar across the bottom of it!

Vintage Thingie Thursday - Vintage Duck Planter

This is a Vintage Duck Planter that use to belong to my Grandmother. I remember when I was a little girl, I would see it at her house. It was given to her by my Aunt Gladys. Then my Grandmother gave it to my Mom. I use to play with it when no one was watching! When my Mom gave it to me, I was so excited. I keep it by my kitchen window.
This thing has to be over 50 years old. It is in perfect shape, no chips or cracks!

I love vintage planters!

Outdoor Wednesday - California's Fires

Today I thought I would join Susan at A Southern Daydreamer's Blog for Outdoor Wednesday.

I love living in California but I hate the fires we have every year around this time. Thank goodness this year the fires are not in the mountains behind us (yet). We have the Cleveland National Forest behind us and every time I see smoke I freak out along with everyone else. Before we moved to this place I heard a bad fire went right through here, so I know it could happen again.

We have about 6 fires right now burning in California. The skies are gray, it looks like gray clouds in the sky, but its all smoke from the fires. The air is so thick and everything smells like smoke.

This is a picture of the fire that has everyone all excited about. It's on the Peak of Mt Wilson, (above Los Angeles) where one of the United States' Premier Observatories sit. It is also home for all the television transmission towers and cell phone towers! All the news stations are all excited they might not be able to broadcast!

If you click here, you can actually go to the Tower Cam on Mount Wilson and actually see what is happening there live!

And after you check the cam out, be sure to click here and go visit Susan at A Southern Daydreamer's Blog and see all the other Outdoor Wednesday Posts!
