A Tribute to my Father

I hate Fathers Day weekend ever since my father passed away 3 years ago. Miss him terribly. I thought I would post some pictures of him.

My father was in WW2 in the 757 Tank Battalian. There was a standing joke in our family because my father would not buy anything unless it was made in the United States. He was so loyal to his country.

When my father built us a new house, he promised me that he would also build me a doll house. This is the doll house he built me with his bare hands. This is me and my little sister Fran standing in front of it when it was done.

This is one of my favorite photos with my Dad. This was taken right before we left for the church.

My father was the best father anyone could have ever had. I miss you so much Daddy. I look forward to the day when I will be able to see you again....

Love, Ann

I know how you feel Anne, My daddy died when I was only 12. I still miss him daily. It is hard when Father's Day comes around. But it gives me a day to share with the world how much I loved him.

Hi Ann, I cried reading your post because I feel the same way since I lost my dad in 1998. Nothing has ever been the same, but I have wonderful memories and so thankful for those. My dad was also in WW2~ Normandy on Omaha Beach. I hope you had a nice weekend with fond memories. I love the picture of you and your dad on your wedding day. I have one nearly similar, with me giving my dad a straighten of his bowtie. They are so special. Your play house is a gem!! What fun you must have had playing in it. Thank you for sharing your loving tribute.
hugs to you,
Celestina

What a wonderful tribute to a much loved father. I am lucky in that my father is still with us, but one day I will be in the same boat as you are. What a comfort to know that they are not far away and that we will see them again.
