Wedding Wish Tree Tags

A lot of Brides are using wedding wish tree tags instead of the traditional guest book. They have a tree at their reception and they have their guests write something special on a wish tree tag and they hang it on their tree!

Here is some I just finished today for a bride with dark Navy Blue ribbon

I have been selling and making hundreds of these a day in my Etsy store!
The ones with brown ribbon are the most popular. They made it to the front page of Etsy the other day!
The brides can order them in any color they chose!
Here is a Wedding Wish Tree in full bloom!

Pink Saturday - Where were you that morning?

Today is Pink Saturday and it's 9/11. Where were you that morning? We all can't forget that awful morning when we all rushed to the nearest television to watch in horror what was unfolding before our eyes.

I remember my husband was out of town on business and he called me that morning to tell me to put on the TV that New York was under attack. My husband could not fly home. He was thousands of miles away and could not get home. It was over a week before he could fly home.
Let's all take a few moments to remember those that lost their lives that day.

A No-Sew Tutu to make!

I am going to post how to make the cutest little girl PINK Tutu. Anyone can make this. It is a no-sew Tutu! All you do is cut and tie onto elastic!
Our church once a year has a Super Craft Night where we all get together and make different crafts all night. This is the 2nd year I have been in charge of this. This is one of the 10 crafts that we will be making! This one is Pink with black and brown ribbon.
You will need 6" Tulle, 3 different colors of ribbon, 3/4" or 1" elastic, scissors or a rotary cutter, cutting mat and a needle and thread

Measure the girl's waist and cut the piece of elastic to fit. Start cutting out the Tulle strips, depending on the size of the girl. Cut them between 24"-30" long. For the one shown in the picture I cut out 33 of them 24" long. I also cut out a total of 18 strips of ribbon the same size. 6 of each color. Fold them in half and start hand tying them onto the elastic. See the pictures below.

Continue tying them onto the elastic until it's completely filled. Use a needle and thread and blind stitch closure on the elastic. This project will take approximately 30 minutes from start to finish. You can also use two different colors of tulle, add rhinestones, make them plain without ribbon, etc. A quick and easy costume for your little pink princess!

Blue Monday - Raggedy Ann Dolls-The Classic American Doll!

Aw, Raggedy Ann Dolls. The best known and most adored rag dolls!
I use to collect Raggedy Ann Dolls. I have most of them packed away (the vintage collectible ones) but I do have a few newer ones displayed in one of my guest bedrooms. Years ago I bought this antique wood doll bed at a thrift store. I have a Raggedy Ann doll in it for my sweet little grand daughters to play with when they come to visit me.
33 years ago my mother crocheted that little doll blanket on the bed for my daughter's dolls. I have saved it all these years and I now let my grand daughters play with it!

Here comes the inspector.......he always has to check out everything.......

In case you are wondering why the blocks on that shelf spell out LONG, that is our last name!

Such a sweet little face! They make any little girl smile!

Pink Saturday

I love to join Ms Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday. I have been doing this every Saturday for over a year now.

This is a pretty pink wall planter that use to belong to my Grandmother. I remember it hanging in her home when I was a little girl. I also remember she had two, however, my Mom thinks the other one was broken and thrown away.
It has precious porcelain flowers on the front. I have never hung it up on the wall. I have a fear it would fall and break during an earthquake or something....oops I said that word!.....
It still has a yarn string on the back that my grandmother tied on it to hang on the wall! When I look at that I think of her tiny little fingers tying it with love.

Pink Saturday - Pink Rose China

Thank You to Ms Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for hosting Pink Saturday every Saturday!

I was at my Mom's house one day and I snapped a few pictures of some pretty vintage dishes she had in her china cabinet. I don't know the name of the sets, but they have delicate pink roses on them!
Here is a close up of the pink rose

This is another set she has. I do not know the name of it either. I guess I should have pulled one out and checked underneath it!

Rednesday - Red Franciscan Tea Cup Bird Feeder

Thanks to Sue at It's a Very Cherry World, today is a day where we post a picture of something RED!

I love to make things for my garden. Here is a Tea Cup bird feeder that I made from a vintage tea cup and saucer from the set Franciscan Apple. I bought this set at a junk swap meet for $1.00! I love the RED apple print on them!
I find an old wood staircase pole or I buy a new one and distress it to look old. I then seal the wood to withstand the outside elements. Then I drill a hole in the tea cup plate with my drill press
I then screw the plate to the top of the staircase pole with a long wood screw using my hand electric drill with a screw attachment. After that has been done I use a two part epoxy glue to glue the tea cup to the plate. It is so strong that it won't come off!

Now you have something to put into your yard for decoration. Fill it with homemade bird seed or burn a candle in your patio!

I like to dry out my Sunflowers and use the seeds the next season. When the Sunflower starts to turn to seed, put a paper bag over the flower to prevent the squirrels and birds from tearing it apart. When the flower has turned completely to seed, cut off the flower and let it hang dry in a cool dry place. They are great the next year to feed the birds!
