Blue Monday - Stained Glass Window

Today is Blue Monday hosted by Sally at Smiling Sally's blog. It's a day to post something blue!

This is a stained glass window I designed and made for my husband in our last home. I had it installed in our Game Room. It is a window that I made to look like one of his blue vintage cars. I was heartbroken when we sold our home and the new owners wouldn't let me take the window out and replace with something else! This is a picture of our 1957 Chevy Belair Convertible that I made the window to look like
This was my first attempt to ever make a stained glass project to fit in a window. It took me 9 months to design, cut out all those glass pieces and put together!

Well for goodness sakes, I hope they paid dearly for that window. I can not believe they would not replace it with something else, as it was very special to you. I would have taken it out before I sold the house or added a hefty price to the sale price. Shame on them!

I love your blue and you are very talanted. I am very impressed.

I agree - that was very nasty of them. The window turned out perfectly. My son would drool over that car, I'll have to pop back in tomorrow and show him. Have a Happy Blue Monday! ~ Robyn

It's wonderful Anne. I'm so sorry to hear they wouldn't let you have it, especially since it held such sentimental value as well as sweat and hours. I wonder if it's still in that window.
Hugs and I hope you enjoy your day!

It's a sad shame you couldn't take what you worked so hard on..it was not so very nice of the ones buying your house. The photo is so very pretty..you did great work. Happy Blue Monday.

What a fun Blue Monday post, and that is amazing how close to the car it looks! So neat! I can't believe they wouldn't let you have the window! I would have another made if possible because it is just too cute for words!

Happy Blue Monday!

Sheila

What a work of love that window is! I can understand that the new owners wanted to keep such a beautiful window, but what a shame for you to have to hand it over. Happy Blue Monday!

Hey Annie:

I am so glad you came by my blog. I love meeting fellow members...and I LOVE your gorgeous blog. I was scrolling through the pictures and your home and gardens look amazing. And your mosiac and glass work has knocked my socks off. That car window is unreal...I can't believe those people were so mean and wouldn't let you replace it. I'm gonna come back when I have more time... (I gotta head to work shortly) but I can see I'm going to love visiting your blog..I'm adding it to my list!

Oh Anne I can't believe you couldn't keep that great window you designed and made! It's great that you have the photo...

You are one talented lady, Ann!! (And patient, too!)
If that had been my house, that glass would have mysteriously went missing after I left!! LOL

That was really unkind that you couldn't keep the window. It meant so much to you. I love the old Chevrolets. Hubby was in high school and drove a 56 Chevy (same color) when we started "going steady." Happy Blue Monday.
