Pink Saturday

I love to join Ms Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday. I have been doing this every Saturday for over a year now.

This is a pretty pink wall planter that use to belong to my Grandmother. I remember it hanging in her home when I was a little girl. I also remember she had two, however, my Mom thinks the other one was broken and thrown away.
It has precious porcelain flowers on the front. I have never hung it up on the wall. I have a fear it would fall and break during an earthquake or something....oops I said that word!.....
It still has a yarn string on the back that my grandmother tied on it to hang on the wall! When I look at that I think of her tiny little fingers tying it with love.

Oh, I know what you mean about earthquakes - I just pray we don't have one here in the desert. Your piece is lovely - and even more lovely since it belonged to your grama. I love the things my grama left me. I can see her creative hands in my memory when I touch her things.
Happy Pink Saturday!
Hugs, Patti

That's a beautiful planter, and a wonderful family heirloom! And I don't blame you for not wanting to hang it on the wall. It would be devastating I'm sure, if something were ever to happen to it!
Happy Pink Saturday!

Yep, we survived the 1989 one in San Francisco/Oakland and then decided to get out of California, sugar. Scary but it was worth not having to worry.

Beautiful rose treasure from your family too, honey.

Connie

I love what you said at the end-her tiny fingers tying it with love-isn't amazing the simple things we remember when they're gone!

Happy Pink Saturday girl! I love your very nostalgic pink. My Granny Walden had some wall hangings that were very simular.
