Blue Monday

Thanks to Sweet Sally at Smiling Sally's Blog we all get to participate in Blue Monday!

Today for Blue Monday I thought I would show a few blue things at my vacation home on the River in Parker, Arizona that I haven't showed before. We just got back yesterday from spending 8 days there and it was wonderful!

This is a really pretty china angel heart plate I have hanging on the wall that has blue in it. The plate was given to me as a gift from a friend when I had a brain tumor removed 16 years ago. She told me it was my guardian angel that was to watch over me during my surgery. It sure watched over me during those times and now I have it hanging in our vacation home to watch over all our friends and family as they play in the river.

I also love to collect old blue enamel ladles and spoons. Here are just a few. They had a huge tube float at the river where thousands of people participated in it. We just sat on our deck and watched all the drunk crazies go by. I snapped this picture of some of the floaters. Do you notice how blue their tubes and umbrellas are??

Anne, I love your blue! Enamelware has always been one of my favorites since I worked at a gift shop in college where we sold some really cute blue!

And I love that picture of the river... looks like F-U-N!

Your angel plate is so sweet. She's a nice reminder that the Lord has given His angels charge over us to guard us in all our ways.

Happy Blue Monday!

XO,

Sheila :-)

That blue enamel is beautiful and I love your angel plate in the shape of a heart. That had to have been a reassuring object during such an extreme time of need. I'm so glad that angel was a comfort and I'm glad you are able to be with us all and blog your wonderful blog. Thanks for sharing what was probably a very difficult chapter in your life.

Love all your speckled blues. What a display you have.

I would think "drunk", "tubes" and "river" wouldn't go together very well, but it would make for a great spectator sport. Love the blue spoons. My grandmother had one of those old navy speckled ladles.

Yes I do blue also, it is Omphalodes verna (common names Navelwort or Blue-eyed Mary) in the background for the yellow Tulips.

Lot of blue tolls in you kitchen.

That guardian angel plate really has special meaning. I am so glad you recovered from the brain tumor. Love the blue spoons too. I think I would rather watch from your deck than be in that group of people. I am sure they had fun though.
