Charlie is out of Hibernation

Well Charlie has finally awaken from his winter sleep. All those beautiful days in the 80's has awaken him and he is hungry. He doesn't like the rock wall I built to keep him from eating a few of my spring flowers.

What pretty flowers. What kind of
turtle is Charlie? I read you have eight children. Wow! My dh comes from a family of nine. And I come from a family of 5. We have two kiddos ourselves.

Charlie is a Desert Tortoise, they live up to 100 years old, we think Charlie is around 40 years old. Thanks for asking!

Hi Anne
Can you post some pictures of your koi pond? I would love to see it.
LMK if you do. Thanks for stopping in to see me. Also Charlie has a long life. Does he get into the pond?

Turtles hibernate? I had no idea.

Charlie is adorable. I have a friend in Arizona that has several. They keep reproducing! And they do hibernate. He has built a place very similar to what we do for wild rabbits and birds. How does Charlie find peace?
How old are your children? Grandchildren? We have 8 grandchildren. I think your home is lovely and , of course, I love the flowers.
I think I am going to enjoy my visits here!

Well, we have been gone for 5 days and the rock wall kept Charlie the turtle from eating my flowers but not the golphers! When I got home last night I noticed most of the blue flowers and gerber daisies have been sucked into the ground and vanished!! I HATE GOLPHERS!!!

I love Charlie! There's something so charming about "critters" roaming freely in gardens! Thanks for sharing Charlie!
