I caught the culprit at last!!!
Boy was I mad. I went outside and noticed some animal had dug a HUGE hole in my Shasta Daisy area. The hole is like a tunnel and it goes underneath my daisies and you can see their roots. I immediately blamed Buck the Rottweiler dog. He gets blamed for everything.... I immediately covered the hole. The next day to my surprise, the hole was there again!! As I walked up on it, I noticed dirt was flying out of the hole! At last, I am going to caught the culprit!

Oh, I must be going blind. I can't see him! But now at least you can't blame the dog. Why is it in life the dog always gets blamed? Or Mom. "Mom, you lost my socks. Mom, you threw away something important." Kids grow up. Now it's my husband. "Brenda, I can't find..." and the list is endless.

Charlie wants to find a good place to be before the summer heat hits! Smart turtle! I can see him, he just blends in with the soil! Poor Buck, how could you blame it on him with those innocent eyes of his! Heehee! Love, Maryjane
That turtle is so beautiful, as beautiful as turtles get I guess, I like him. What kind of turtle is he and clould I keep one here in Missouri.
I almost steeped on a huge snapping turtle today while walking the dogs in the woods. I went to get my camera, I wanted to show him on my blog, but he was gone when I returned. He was wayching me from some where I know. Probably waiting to chomp down on my ankle. Ha!
I clicked on the picture to enlarge it....is that a pet turtle? Or just one that roams the neighborhood?

Is Charlie trying to cool off? I don't know much about turtles. I'm so glad your dogs name has been cleared! I love the artichoke blossom! I've never seen one before and didn't even know they developed one, thanks for the education and the gorgeous photo.

LOL she is a smart turtle. It`s a 90-120 day incubation period so mark it off on your calendar and start counting. (that`s if she has laid a clutch)

In our house we always blame one of the boys...the dogs are much more innocent!
I couldn't see the turtle either, I looked and looked! I am with Rene, it would of been a gopher or a mole here, I have tons of holes this year in my garden beds! Pesky things...

I couldn't find the poor turtle in the picture. I believe you, though. We have a friend in Az. that has desert tortoises and they do burrow. He piles up dirt and branches, etc. for his tortoises. I think he has about 30 of different ages and sizes. He moved from the original site to a newly built home and actually had the contractors construct a "lodge" for his tortoises. It gets cold enough that they hibernate but the summer is so hot that they need a place out of the heat. Wonder why they call them desert tortoises?
