It's another Pink Saturday being hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.
Today I thought I would post pictures of some vintage PINK items from 1957. I was a young girl that year, but PINK was a very popular color!

Annie I love your pink so much today. It brought memories of my pink kitchen in 1964. It wasn't as big as the one you showed but so much like mine it made me smile. I had wallpaper like the picture in pink and red. My floors were red and white checked (12by12 tiles)and my cabinets were very PINK.LOL. Love the cars too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comment about Cocoa. It is such a sad loss.
Hugs...Jeanne

ReplyDeleteHi Ann, What a wonderful post but it's funny. I was a young girl in '57 too and I don't remember my Mom cleaning house in high heels. :) Thanks so much for the heads up about the link. I emailed Beverly. Have a great Pink Saturday. ~ Lynn
ReplyDeleteI remember that year. Elvis loved pink cars and bought a bunch of pink Caddies to hand out like candy. Happy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I want that T-bird!!!
ReplyDeleteLet's tie scarves around our hair like Sophia Loren, hop in, and go cruising!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the great pics.

Ann, I really like your Pink Saturday post. I love the 1957 cars. I remember Elvis Presley had a pink Cadillac. I also remember that a lady in my mother's card club had a pink kitchen and I went with my mother and her friend to see it. Of course, they thought it was awesome.

My grandmother had a pink & black bathroom in the 60's!
ReplyDeleteHi My Friend Ann!
ReplyDeleteNow when are you going to get a PINK car? We could go "cruising" to Home Goods together and buy a whole bunch of PINK stuff! LOL!
Love ya,
Maryjane
Love your pink post! My granddaddy came home in come pink convertible he bought for my grandma. Everyone thought he had lost his mind! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday!
fabulous Pink. I have read that after WWII pink was used to help forget the years of deprivation and the blues, greys and khakis of that time. Now that the women could stay at home, they chose pink to give everything that susie homemaker look vs the 'rosie the riveter' look
ReplyDeleteAnnie, what a fabulous pink post you did today. Not that I would wish myself being any older than I am, but I would have loved to have been living back in 1957 if it could have allowed me to have a pink kitchen like the one you showed the ad for. And those pink cars.. how fun would that be to drive around in one of those?? Happy Pink Saturday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun pink post! I don't remember these pink items probably because I was just a teeny infant then. It was fun seeing all the pink on your post. Happy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI've never been a pink person, but you've got some great shots here.
ReplyDeleteOh I can't get over that pink radio. It's fantastic.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, dear Ann.
ReplyDeleteI love your memories today. Wouldn't it be fun to have that pink T-bird?

Hi Ann,
ReplyDeleteLoving that kitchen (not too wrapped on the wallpaper thou)
The cars look great too, your hubby collects vintage cars, any of his in pink?
Rose
Wouldn't it be fun to drive one of the pink cars....what am I saying, I want to have one... maybe I better sign up to sell Mary Kay, I hear you can earn a pick car on there, but they wouldn't be near as classic.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nanette

My mom had a pink studebaker when I was little. My stepdad hated to drive it! Can't say that I blame him. Mimi
ReplyDeleteWow...pink and more pink! Wouldn't you just love to have one of the pink cars? I am not, however, fond of the pink kitchen!!! Great pictures...great post!
